History

Established with the intention of a quality residential education for Parsi girls, D.C. School started with about four girls with a staff of six teachers and five helpers. A modest four room bungalow comprised class rooms and living accommodation one floor above. Our principal, Miss Shirin Manekshana guided the school throughout an outstanding career of more than 40 years form 1942 onwards. It was during this time that the school grew from strength to strength.  Day Scholars joined our residential students and later, pre-primary boys joined them, becoming a fully cosmopolitan institution. Student numbers grew and the D.C. School Trust was founded in 1951 to enable this tremendous growth and progress ensuring an exclusive and premium education, a position enjoyed through the decades leading up to our Platinum Jubilee Year, 2008-09.
